Coastal Pathology, Sunshine Central: Now Open in Minyama
New Collection Centre at 1/7 Nicklin Way
The Partners of Coastal Pathology are proud to announce the opening of Sunshine Central, our latest Collection Centre on Nicklin Way, Minyama, from January 2011. With this new centre now in operation we are extending the provision of our high quality, independent service to doctors and patients in the region, and we shall continue to apply a universal bulk billing policy for Medicare and DVA card holders for all outpatient referrals. Our other Collection Centres continue to operate at Buderim, Nambour, Maroochydore and Noosaville. The Sunshine Central collection centre operates Monday to Friday, from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm. In recent years, pathology in Australia has undergone widespread economic "rationalisation", so that about 90% of private pathology in Australia is conducted by 4 large corporations, responsible first and foremost to shareholders. Patients and referring doctors come second. We believe that pathology should be about an alliance between medical colleagues ie doctors to doctors, concerned about delivering the highest quality medical care possible to patients. Like other specialist medical practices, this type of pathology service can only truly be delivered by those practices where the doctors doing the consulting actually own and run the laboratory.
